Fermanagh Farmers Visit Poland September 2015

Europe Direct NI was delighted to work in partnership with the NFU Mutual team in Fermanagh to deliver this study visit for over 40 farmers to look at the beef, dairy, sheep and poultry business in Poland.

The group were based in Krakow and as part of a four day programme visited a sheep and Simental beef breeding farm that exports its animals across Europe, a dairy farm that has won the ‘best farmer of the year’ with 900 milk cows and bio-gas electro-plant employing over 80 workers and a GMO free poultry breeder operating an 80 day natural breeding process.

The group also visit the famous Saltmines, a UNESCO listed site since 1978 as well as a guided tour of Auschwitz.
