Social Farm Visit

The objective of this visit was to share expertise and knowledge on agriculture and the practice of social farming on this region to share with the partners in the CRANE project.

The CRANE project is funded for 2yrs through Erasmus+ strategic partners for adult education with partners from the UK, Italy, Spain and Malta.

The aim of the project is to provide farmers involved in multifunctional farms with the skills and competencies required to fulfill their role of promoting and informing people about agriculture through non formal education.

The project will use the experiences of farmers across the partner regions who offer services/ activities to develop training to provide farmers with the necessary skills to develop or improve these services/ activities on their farms.

Primary School visit to Stormont

These two primary schools came together to share each others history and following a visit to Dublin they looked at how this region is governed. A visit to the local assembly in Stormont allowed them to sit in the chamber and debate the issues that were imported to them. The conduced their discussion as members of the local assembly and voted other positions to understand how the assembly make decisions.

Social Farming

Took part in training for social farmers to understand what is required from personal commitment to legislation.

Social Farming is the practice of offering activity on family farms as a form of social support service. In Social Farming the farm remains a working farm at its core but invites people to participate in the day to day activities of the farm.

The training was to connect with local social farmers to enable them to participate in the CRANE project to share their experiences of engaging in social farming.

Twinning Workshop

The purpose of this workshop was to help locally elected representative look at the benefits of twinning with towns and regions in other parts of Europe.

Twinning is a European Union instrument for institutional cooperation between Public Administrations of EU Member States and of beneficiary or partner countries.

Twinning projects bring together public sector expertise from EU Member States and beneficiary countries with the aim of achieving concrete mandatory operational results through peer to peer activities.

UK Europe Direct Network Meeting

The meeting in London was hosted by the EU Commission Representation in the Uk and brought together the Europe Direct offices across the UK to provide a briefing and updates on the latest news on EU policies and programmes.

Europe Direct Northern Ireland is a European Commission information centre with a network of over 500 offices in each of the 28 member states. Europe Direct NI is the local contact point for information on citizens rights, EU funding, publications and materials to sources of information, EU policies and programmes.

Lid+ Ambassadors to promote Erasmus+

Meeting of the Lid+ Ambassadors from across the UK who will promote the Erasmus+ programme to youth.

LID+’ is a year-long programme of free services
and events that
will promote, inform and provide access to, not to mention support your potential involvement in the Erasmus+ Programme.

The Inside Out Programme, based in N Ireland is one of only seven project funded by the EU Commission in the UK that is tasked with promoting the Erasmus+ programme.  ‘LID+’ offers a free bespoke service that aims to increase participation in EU Mobility activities over the coming year.

The project will work specifically to target (i) those interested in Volunteering Abroad (ii) taking part in Youth Exchanges and (iii) or developing other Key Action1 Mobility Projects including planning meetings, training programmes and seminars.
