Workshops with year 10 pupils in Coleraine to explore how languages are important for any career in a very connected world where we connect to do business across the world. We looked at how to develop language skills through living, working, studying, volunteering and traveling throughout Europe. Even when the UK leaves the EU we are still providing services and goods across Europe.
Workshops with year 9 pupils in Tyrone to help them understand the importance of languages for careers and personal development. We explored Northern Ireland’s European links and how the EU works, member states, languages, Euro and EU Citizen’s rights. Languages are key no matter what type of career you are considering.
Cookstown Youth Council to provide them with information on the Erasmus+ programme and other opportunites offered by the EU for youth to live, work or study in other member states. Also letting them know about the upcoming Erasmus+ youth exchange to Spain as part off the Euro-Youth MediaLab project and the opportununity for them to take part in a youth exchange with youth from Sweden, Spain, France and Bulgaria in Marhc 2018.
The third project meeting of the EuroYouth MediaLAb project was hosted by the Spanish partner in Baena, Spain.
The meeting reviewed the final work that needed to be completed so the Online Platform could go live to share the multimedia reports produced by the youth and for them to take part in online debates.
The two working groups for the Strategy and Dissemination provided an update on the tasks to finalise both plans which will be shared on the Online Platform.
The project partners met with the local MediaLab youth group who gave them a guided tour of Baena and explained to them the activities they had carried out as part of the project and their future plans.
The youth from Spain will meet youth from France, Sweden and the UK during an exchange visit in February 2018 hosted by the Bulgarian youth and the project partners.
