Working with 70 year 9 pupils who have started to learn French to encourage them to see how important languages. The EU has 24 official languages but uses 4 key languages: French, English, German and Spanish. These are the core languages used to carry out all interpretation and translation.
Mid Ulster Council hosts a celebration of the Erasmus+ funded Euro-Youth MediaLab Project which has involved youth from Dungannon over the 2year term of the project.
The aim of the project is to work with youth to explore what issues concern them and present their views through multimedia reports which they will produce and share with their project partners.
Five of the ten partners involved in the Euro-Youth MediaLab project take part in an Erasmus+ youth exchange programme. The five project partners are: Bulgaria, France, Spain, Sweden and UK. The youth exchange includes 5 youth and one leader from each region working together during a week long programme to explore EU key issues.
Youth from Dungannon and Cookstown took part in youth exchanges in France, Spain, Bulgaria and Sweden where they worked with youth from Sweden, Spain, France and Bulgaria. Project information
The fourth and final youth exchange took place in Baena, Spain 18 – 22 March 2018 and included 5 youth and a youth leader from Bulgaria, France, Spain, Sweden, and the UK.
The youth exchange was hosted by the project partner from Baena, Spain which is a town of Andalucia in the province of Córdoba in southern Spain.

Europe Direct Northern Ireland is a European Commission information centre with a network of over 400 offices in each of the 28 member states. The training in Brussels was to welcome new Europe Direct offices to the network and provide up to date training on how to respond to queries from citizens on their rights and access to EU policies and programmes.
